DACHSER organizes transportation by block train along the New Silk Road
BASF entrusted its long-standing logistics provider DACHSER to handle a first block train to China. The train of 42 containers carrying BASF products arrived in the Chinese city of Xi´an. DACHSER took take care of all organizational aspects—including coordination with train operator RTSB GmbH, customs clearance, and distribution of the goods in China.
DACHSER builds on its growth driver
Even as the global economy becomes increasingly weaker, DACHSER was able to continue growing in 2019. The logistics provider increased its consolidated net revenue by a solid 1.6 percent to EUR 5.66 billion. Driving this growth was again the Road Logistics business field, net revenue rose by 2.9 percent to EUR 4.60 billion. In contrast, the Air & Sea Logistics business field saw a decline of 4.1 percent, mainly attributable to weaker demand for air freight services for automotive customers.
Shipping cars from Thailand to Bangladesh
DACHSER has recently completed the first batch of a Roll-on/ Roll-off (RoRo) shipment: 40 out of 270 cars were transported by vessel from the manufacturer in Thailand to the dealer in Bangladesh.
DACHSER Thailand well prepared for the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area
Since the upgraded ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (FTA) went into effect in August, there have been some changes in the customs clearance regulations in Thailand. The changes have been put in place to facilitate trade between the ASEAN country and China. These changes also include a simplified and digitalized process which has had a positive impact on cargo arrival. The upgrade also means a reduction in tax for certain commodities.
